THAT'S OFFICIALLY A WRAP ON SUB ROSA

Congratulation to all crew and cast members and thank you so much to everybody who has been supporting us along the way.
Sub Rosa is now into its post-production stage and editors are working hard to put together the story that will make the producers and director's vision into reality.

Being only a couple weeks away from the Missouri State Film Showcase, producers are making efforts in bringing a close to done version of the film to show to other student filmmakers on May 15th.
Just to show you how intense and mind-blowing the making of Sub Rosa has been, here is a short timeline of how the whole production went:

Summer 2017: Producer Thomas Romainville visits the Pomme de Terre lake and immediately envisions to shoot a short film on location. Thomas brainstorms some story ideas with writer Isaac Willbanks.

September 2017: The first draft of Sub Rosa is born. It's far from the final story but at this point, producer and writer know they are going for a mystery drama/thriller.

October 2017: After several more rewrites of the original scripts, producer Romainville starts to call out potential production members to put his pitch package together. Among them, Marlena McReynolds and Tatym Brown decide to sign on a producers, and James McFerron as director after Thomas decides he will take on the role of Director of Photography.

November 2017: Producers, directors, writers, and department heads pitch Sub Rosa to the MJF faculty. A few days later, the project is approved by the board and moves forward into pre-production. Principal Photography is scheduled for March during 8 days.

December 2017 - February 2018: Producers, director and department heads take care of every step of pre-production. Starting with casting, location scouting, scheduling and budgeting, crew hiring, rehearsals, etc. Producers pitch their project to the Student Government Association (SGA) to receive more funding, as well as building a crowdfunding campaign to raise awareness about the film. By the end of pre-production, producers received an estimated $4500 for the making of Sub Rosa.

March 2017: Principal Photography takes places over the course of 8 days in over 6 locations across the Ozarks.

April 2017: Post-Production steps begin. Pick-ups are scheduled for another 3 days. Director Mcferron and Producer Romainville discuss the score for the film and invite music composer Cadmus Blackwood to come on board. ADR sessions are scheduled.

May 2017: Post-Production keeps on going. Producers discuss publicity and film festivals competition.

This week's goal is to look at a fine cut sequence of the picture, as well as checking out some of the sound mixing/scoring done so far. Editor Mariah Zenk will discuss color grading with DP Thomas Romainvile. And Producers will wrap on thanking donors for their contribution to the making of the film.
